Recipes

You may have noticed I've taken a little break from blogging about my organizing. Eli got sick, now Kate is sick, and it looks like I'm trying to get sick, too. I've been doing lots of Lysoling, but not much organizing.

However, I have been doing some cooking over here that I thought I would share.

I realized a while back that ALL of my meals went something like this recipe...

Taco Soup:
  • Packet of taco seasoning
  • Packet of Hidden Valley ranch
  • 1 lb. of ground beef, browned and drained
  • Various cans of your favorite beans (I use 2 cans kidney beans, 1 can black beans, 1-2 cans crushed tomatoes, 1 can corn, maybe a can of pinto beans, maybe a can of garbanzo beans if Sam isn't looking...)
Although this recipe is delicious and easy, this does not constitute cooking!!! This is calling cutting open cans and dumping them in the crockpot.

I couldn't remember the last time I had cut up an onion or minced garlic. It is time. So I found some yummy new recipes that both include some of our favorite foods - pasta and spinach!
These are both pretty easy recipes. Ok, not as easy as dumping the cans in the crockpot. But they are delicious. My husband thinks I'm awesome. Life is good.

If you want to see what I'm making next week, you should check out my friend Molly's blog about her and her husband's healthy eating... Yes, Sam will be outside grilling next week for sure, because those steak tacos look great and are a really healthy choice!

Happy cooking!
