Day 12: The Spice Cabinet

What, what!? I am catching up today. Thank you, Lord, for sleeping children. Kate is so worn out from her shots that she has been asleep since 11 (almost 4 hours), and Eli went down at 12:30, talked and sang to himself for about an hour and a half, and is now sleeping soundly. I finished the freezer and the spice cabinet today!

This is the amount of trash that is leaving my house today!

The EXPIRED frozen foods and spices that are OUT OF HERE!
Ok, so check out the spice cabinet. Not too impressive before OR after in my opinion, but as a family friend (I swear this man was in the Italian mob) used to say, "You do's, what you do's, what you do's." Whatever that means.

The spice cabinet before (try to ignore the other stuff that I did NOT attempt to organize today)

And after... (remember to ignore the other stuff! I didn't have enough time today to work on all of that!)

In the back I have food coloring and sprinkles; in the front I have my cooking spices (alphabetized - but they were like that before, too).

Grilling spices in back; continuation of alphabetized cooking spices...

Bigger items over here...

I don't love how I organized this, but for my space, this works best. However, I LOVE what Toni did at A Bowl Full of Lemons.  Her idea of labeling the TOPS of the spices and putting them in bins is JUST PERFECT!

Happy organizing! (Laundry closet, I still haven't forgotten about you. Kids waking up are saving you now, but they will go to sleep again tomorrow - at least I hope they will - mommas need nap times as much as kids do!) - KP
