Day 4: The Linen Closet

Have you started taking the 21 day challenge?
I can't believe it is already day 4 of this challenge. I feel GREAT! (How many moms of 2 kids under 2 with one being a 1 month old can say that!? Getting organized is somehow compensating for the lack of sleep I am getting!) My house is getting cleaner and cleaner. I have purged 4 bags of trash and 1 enormous Goodwill bag already!

You wouldn't think I'd be having that great of a day. Kate was up from 12-1 last night. As soon as I put her to bed, Eli woke up screaming and was up until 2:30. Kate was up at 5:30 and 8:30 to nurse again. Eli was up for the day at 9:30. All I have to say is wow and thank you for an easy day with the organizing challenge. I couldn't have handled much more than the linen closet today! The brightest spot of the day, however, was Kate giving me (and my camera) a glimpse at her first social smile. Are you ready for this cuteness? I think not.

Kate at 5 weeks today! How happy is this little girl? Her joy is contagious!
So, on to the closet... Since my husband is the head resident of a guy's college dorm (aka we are dorm parents, but my husband hates it when I call us that), we live in a pretty small space. We only have 2 closets - one in our bedroom and one in our son's bedroom. Therefore, I had linens crammed in spaces in various rooms.

This is our closet (I've been trying to get it organized, which is why there are some empty shelves.) The linens in here are for our bed and our daughter's pack 'n' play.

Here are our son's linens and diapers in his dresser. They are all crammed in! I didn't even know what was in there!

Oops! Didn't have enough closet space, so our blankets were sitting in the floor of the living room with a bunch of junk on them. Yuck.

Here is the after of our bedroom closet. Blankets and all linens are in here now!

And the after on Eli's dresser... There is now room for all of his diapers and wipes!
Best part of today's challenge? I went a step further and changed everyone's sheets! Now I just have to get to the MEGA stack of laundry that needs washing, drying, and folding... - KP
