Day 3: The Tupperware Cabinet

3 days in, and I am still keeping up with this organizing challenge! I will say that as a mom of 2 under 2 that every day it has taken me THE ENTIRE DAY to complete each challenge! :) There are just too many babies to feed, diapers to change, dishes to wash, laundry to fold... you know how the list goes on and on. However, by the end of each day I have been able to accomplish one organizing task on top of all the other tasks that I have to do.

Today's challenge was to organize the Tupperware cabinet. Now, I like the way my Tupperware is organized already - my son, Eli, likes to play with the Tupperware, so I have the Tupperware in a cabinet low to the ground and I ALWAYS keep the lids on so that the Tupperware is not getting dirty as he pulls them out. I know that this cabinet will not be "pretty" until my kids are a little older, and I am ok with that. However, the rest of this cabinet really needed some work...

Before (showing these before photos is not getting any easier - so embarrassing!)

Oops! Eli found me "playing" with the Tupperware and he wanted to get in on the action. Kate wanted to play, too, but then she fell asleep in her chair.

Sid the Science Kid came on; Eli's distracted! Hurry, get the cabinet cleaned!

Oops! Mom found the tea maker in the Tupperware cabinet and decided to make almond tea. A very delicious distraction. Yum! (Maybe a little healthier distraction than the pan of brownies I made yesterday and have almost eaten all by myself. Yikes. Obviously, losing weight was not one of my new year's resolutions this year!
You may need to know how to make this tea. It is so easy and delicious. Brew a pitcher of tea, add a cup (or less) of sugar, 1 tsp. almond extract, and half a can of frozen limeade. I make variations using frozen lemonade or vanilla extract sometimes, too. Enjoy!

Cabinet is almost perfect, but as you can see, Tupperware is just so much fun to play with. I mean, really? What is more fun than stacking Tupperware for a 21 month old??? (Can you see my 2 huge bags of trash in the corner? I am throwing things away over here like a crazy lady!)

The finished product. I took everything out, cleaned and scrubbed all surfaces, moved the Crock Pots in, organized the hand towels, threw out old towels and Tupperware, made a stack of Tupperware that needs to go back to my mother-in-law, and now I'm just waiting for Eli to wake up from his nap and move all the Tupperware back around!
Day 3 was a success. Can't wait for Day 4! Join in the challenge and let me know how organizing is going in your house! - KP
