New Year's Resolutions

One of my new year's resolutions this year is that I am going to try to read the Bible during the year using The Daily Bible with commentary by F. Lagard Smith. Today marks day 2 of me being successful. I hope and pray I can make it through the year!

Today's reading was about Cain and Abel. Reading about their relationship really made me think about the relationship I have with my sisters. I am so blessed to have sisters who I am so close with. We love and support each other in all we do. I can't imagine life without them and am so thankful for how they bless me, Sam, Eli, and Kate.
Aren't my sisters beautiful?

I pray that my children love each other and enjoy being together the rest of their lives!

I can't leave out my husband and his brother either. Here they are last Christmas opening their Coney Island Steamers from their parents. It does a parent's heart good to see their kids having fun together!

Aunt Keke (aka Aunt Kelly) and Eli take a ride on the train.

Aunt Kiki (aka Aunt Kacy) taking Eli on the carousel.
Thank you, Kacy and Kelly, for the blessing you have been in my life. A few of my favorite memories...
  • Barbies
  • passing notes back and forth when we were supposed to be asleep
  • Mitzi
  • the play house in the back yard
  • Cowboys and Indians with the neighbors (me running through the spider web between 2 trees)
  • creating a "haunted house" in our yard
  • having "yard sales" in the hallway
  • the rocks in front of our old house
  • bike rides
  • beach trips: Hilton Head, St. George's Island, Destin, etc.
  • swim team
  • Little People
  • piano lessons (ok, not one of my favorite memories)
  • teaching swim lessons
  • Ravenwood
  • golf lessons
  • beating every boy in the golf tournament
  • Little Vinny
  • St. George's Island
  • biking to the ice cream store
  • walking the steps to the ice cream store and eating extra ice cream because of it
  • Club 200
  • the Tennessee history class we took
  • learning Spanish at the Shepherds (manzana, crunch)
  • Jump the Chump
  • Mean Daddy
  • playing at the rent houses
  • Mom accidentally throwing Kelly in the pool
  • trampoline
  • spelling the word Barbies so Kelly wouldn't know what we were about to go do and would leave us alone - haha!
  • sneaking into the closet to see the Christmas presents Mom hid
  • Kelly painting the dog green
  • and so many more! All of my new favorite memories have to do with watching you all interact with Eli and Kate. What an awesome life we live!
Thanks for not treating me like Cain treated Abel. We definitely would not have had so many great memories if you had. I love you both! - KP
