When Daddy is away...

Mommy gets to play! Since I hate when Sam is out of town, I came up with a project to work on, so I would be totally distracted about being alone with the kiddos.

Here are my before pictures:

This is a picture of our bathroom that I took when Eli was about a year old and pulled the toilet paper around our whole house. :) However, I really want you to notice the trim! Green. Nice, right?

Here I am with the kids at my 28th birthday. Don't focus on my grey hair. (Eli just looked over my shoulder and said, "Oh, look! I so cute!" Haha!) You can look at how cute my kids are, but also make sure to note the awfulness of the green trim.

Again, focus on the green trim. Not my cute husband and son. Eli loves to match his dad. Isn't that sweet?

Can you see the green door and trim better here? Or are those chubby thighs distracting you???

Here are my after pictures:

Painted the bathroom trim AND put up curtains in the bathroom to give the appearance of a bath... We have poorly installed shower that just looks really rough, so I decided to hide it!

The trim is white! Yay! But if you look down the hall, you can see I have to do our bedroom door next!

There's the shower, shelves, trashcan, scale and toilet brush cleaner that I will be hiding with my curtain!

Trim painted on the laundry area. Next step: replace curtains with something more appropriate.

I painted the trim to the front door, but since Sam was out of town, I am waiting to do the door. (I liked to be locked in the house when he is gone! And to paint I would have had to open the door!)

...and I have enough paint to do the trim to the back door, my bedroom door, my closet door, Eli's door, and the 2 doors in Kate's new room (more on that to come!). To me, this project was worth every penny! Do you agree? Do you think my husband will agree? He doesn't even know I did this yet! He'll find out this afternoon when he returns home!
