Busy Bag Swap

I follow Money Saving Mom, and she recently blogged about a preschool busy bag swap that she joined up with at Unsolicited Advice. When a new busy bag swap opened up, I had to jump on board and give it a try!

The way it worked... I made 30 bags of the same craft. My craft was Felt Snowflakes. The activity is really cute, but I did have to cut out about 50 million pieces of felt, which was very time intensive as you can imagine! If I ever do something like this again, I will try to choose something that doesn't take as long to put together. However, I hope everyone enjoyed the activity I sent out.

Anyway, we all sent our activities to one person who divided the bags into 30 boxes and shipped them back to us. My package arrived today with 29 (one person dropped out) new activities for me to do with Eli. He was so excited about all of his new toys!!!

This is the activity he wanted to do first. I think he was hoping I would let him eat the fruit loops, but he got over his disappointed that this was not a snack pretty quickly. He had so much fun sorting the fruit loops!

He is still a little young for this activity, so I am going to make something similar to this matching activity with just one shape to match to so he can practice the concept of matching the shapes. However, with some guidance, he did pretty good at this one. He definitely had fun trying it out!

Playdoh mats! We've never done this before. He LOVED it!!!

We spend a ton of time doing this! He really loved this concept!

My craft that I sent out - he liked playing with the felt. He couldn't figure out copying the card, but after I built a snowflake, he could make it from memory, which he loved. He also loved just putting pieces everywhere. :)

Imitating what I did.

His finished product - pretty good work by himself for not being 2.5 yet!

Another hit - making "cherry pies" on a playdoh mat. He loved making the "cherries" and putting them in the pie!
Check out his face - he was seriously having an awesome time!

It took a lot of work from a lot of moms, but this was one cool thing to be a part of. Everyone did such an awesome job! I would totally do this again!
