A Fun Saturday!

We had the best day yesterday. We started the day with A Walk with the Mayor in Mt. Juliet and some time at the park, and then we ended the day at the Williamson County Fair. Rest assured, my kids slept like champs last night! :) Here are a few pics from yesterday:

Ready to walk with the mayor, a.k.a. Poppy :)
Andrew is really great about playing with the kids.  Wait!? Where are the kids!?!

Oh, the kids were swinging with Kiki. What WAS Andrew doing by himself on that toucan???

She was about 2 hours past naptime in this pic. She is seriously the happiest kid I've ever met regardless of her circumstances.

Andrew recruited Kacy to seesaw.

Eli was having so much fun at the new tot park at Charlie Daniels' Park in MJ.

Eli was so excited about this race car at the fair.

My little cowboy!

My little cowgirl!

Ok, so the Williamson County Fair has the coolest thing ever for kids!!! There is a Children's Barnyard and a Little 1s Farming activity. This pic is Eli about to go farming.

First, they bag some corn.

Then, they feed the chickens and gather eggs.

Then, they head to the orchard and pick an apple.

Then, they take care of the sheep and get a bag of wool.

Then, they ride on the tractor.

Then, they plant a few pieces of corn.

Then, they pick their produce.

Then, they feed the cow.

And milk the cow!

Then, they take their basket to the farmer's market and sell their items.

Selling the items.

Haha, dancing with his money!

Then, they get to turn their money in for milk or an apple. Eli picked chocolate milk. :)

Here he is at the Children's Barnyard.

Here he is coming out of his skin when he saw the chickens. He loves chickens.

These 2 were troopers. :)

Seeing the baby piglets and momma pig!

A tot petting zoo. Eli was a little nervous so he would only pet their backs - he wouldn't go anywhere near their faces.

Out of all that fun stuff, his fave was the Nemo ride! He did it twice and loved it!
We also went a couple shows - a circus show, the hypnotist, a cowboy show... We also got to see all the produce that won prizes, which is one of my favorite parts of the fair. I also found an old timey area where I saw a woman making handmade lace and tatting. I have never seen anything as intricate as making lace by hand. It was beautiful!

You may be wondering what we ate at the fair since we are trying to live a healthier, organic lifestyle. Well, we decided that since we do love fair food that we would splurge and enjoy our favorites! I had a funnel cake and lemonade. Sam had a corn dog and corn on the cob. Eli had a hamburger and cotton candy. Kate ate Eli's hamburger bun. It wasn't our healthiest meal, but we had a great time last night and lived it up to the fullest!
