Homeschool, Week 3

This week for school...

We talked about the letter A and focused on talking about fruit.

My trays: another pouring activity with beads (because he loves it), an apple coloring sheet, a matching activity with pictures, another sensory bucket with erasers in it, an awesome matching activity with colors, and a gluing activity with apples on a tree.

I also put some books that talk about fruit out for him to look at and I made a basket with all of his play fruit and some of our real fruit in it.

Pouring - it is always the first thing he goes for!

Where did it go!?

Matching: The colors are written in their color on the apples. I put a jar with the exact number of items he needed in each color. He did awesome and loved this activity!

Thinking, thinking, thinking...

I also had some "with-Mom" activities. For one activity he painted the As and as on an apple with his Dot marker. For the other activity he painted the apples on the paper.

Haha! I tried letting him stamp the letter A on the apple, and as you can see, he did not like this activity one bit! We will try this again in a few weeks.

I also got a dry erase marker out and put some activities in a sheet protector so he could write on that. Here he is coloring the apples.

I forgot to take a picture, but he also did one where he drew a line over a dotted line from one apple to another.
We have been having a blast with school this week. We are spending about an hour a day, spread throughout the day. We don't usually spend more than 10-15 minutes at a time on it, except the first day. On the first day of the week he gets so excited that he spends about 30-45 minutes exploring everything.

Most of this week's activities came from http://www.1plus1plus1equals1.com/TotSchoolPrintables.html. This blog has so many great ideas and printables. I used most of their printables and then supplemented with items and activities I already had.

And I almost forgot, but I found a few great computer activities for Eli to go with our lesson on the letter A. After we did our activities on Monday, I showed him:
Week 3 was a great one! Next week we are moving on to letter B!

  2. Thanks, Holly! Having a toddler is so much fun; I'm loving that they love to be doing stuff all the time. I don't know if you follow Lauren Strahan on Pinterest, but she always finds the cutest things to do with kids.

About the table... I've seen little tables at consignment sales some, and I think you could probably find something at Walmart, Babies R Us, etc. The one we have I found in my parents' attic (it has 2 chairs, but I just use the one) - they had forgotten they had it! I'll keep my eyes open and let you know if I see one for a good price anywhere! Good luck!
