I learned a lot of things during the 27th year of my life. I learned that...
| 1. I have been blessed beyond measure. |
| 2. I've never been more in love with my husband. |
| 3. Eli is the best big brother I've ever seen. |
| 4. Kate is the most angelic baby I've ever seen. |
| 5. laundry doesn't celebrate birthdays. (This is what Kate, Eli, and I have been up to today!) |
| 6. my true friends aren't the same ones I talked to every day when I had facebook. |
| 7. I can be a stay-at-home mom to 2 under 2 while supporting my husband as he works and goes back to school. |
| 8. family is the most important thing to me. |
| 9. my priorities were out-of-whack. And then I made some important changes to get them back in order. |
| 10. when you stop coloring your hair, you may find that gray hair has been growing when you weren't looking! (I know you can see those crazy gray hairs!!!) |
| 11. playing choo-choos is more important than doing the dishes. |
| 12. cooing with a baby is more important than running the vacuum. |
| 13. laughing at my husband's jokes and loosening up are necessary. If I learned this earlier, I may not have had to learn #10. |
| 14. a phone call is more personal than a text, email, or facebook comment. (Picture messages are pretty nice, though!) |
| 15. two children are twice the work and twice the blessing of one child. |
| 16. my parents are rockstars. |
| 17. Sam and I are rockstars. |
| 18. I can revolutionize my family by being dedicated to making important changes for our health. |
| 19. every child is different as is every birthing experience. |
| 20. I could care less about "keeping up with the Joneses," even though we love our friends, the Joneses! (Ok, so I would love to have this kitchen one day... but I have learned to love and be thankful for the blessings I do have!) |
21. I can be less wasteful than I used to be. |
| 22. it is ok to be wasteful if you are throwing out markers and crayons that aren't washable. |
| 23. gardening is fun. |
| 24. I like reading non-fiction. |
| 25. my sisters are two of my best friends. |
| 26. I'm obsessed with being the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, etc. and that holidays are more fun with kids. |
| 27. I can leave margin in my life and be happier for it. |
Overall, 27 was pretty good to me! Bring it on, 28 - I'm ready for you!
