Dreaming...

You've seen pictures of my current kitchen.

This is before we added the pot rack above the stove. You can kind of see the cabinets and green laminate (the cabinets used to be green, too!).
This pic of my bro-in-law pretending to feed his 3 month old a cupcake shows the pot rack, but more importantly, it really shows the beauty of the laminate cabinets. :)
Here you can see the window and curtains as well as the laundry door closet.

And you can see the pantry in the back next to the fridge. I've moved the pantry around a million different ways to make the space more inviting. I've almost got it where I want it now. I'll wait until it's perfect to show where it is now. :)
You can see the picture frames on the left wall.

And of course, Eli's table and chairs.
It lacks a little to be desired as you can see although I've gone to great lengths some trouble to try to improve it. I rearranged the furniture. I added picture frames, curtains, and a pot rack over the stove. I had my husband paint the cabinets a dark brown. I rearranged the furniture again. And then again. And then again. And again.

But what I REALLY want to do to this space is...
  • Wallpaper the ceiling tiles

  • Paint and wallpaper the cabinets as seen here with Love and Lace

  • Paint the walls white or a light gray depending on the fabric I go with for my curtains. See my dream kitchen???

  • Replace the laundry door with curtains using this beautiful damask

Although I really want to be brave and go for a white and turquoise kitchen...

  • Replace my current, flimsy curtains with heavier drapes with the same fabric as above, I think...
  • Cover my new pantry area with curtains.
  • Paint the laminate counters black or dark gray with this...

Any thoughts or suggestions before I break out the paint cans???
