...I finally have a few seconds to write a post. Can you believe I've been so busy that it has taken me 30 days to update my blog? I can't. The last month was supposed to be "easy," but we haven't stopped for a second.
Here is what we have been up to...
| Kate started sitting up about 3 weeks ago when she turned 6 months old. |
| Lil Miss Toothless is obsessed with her Jumparoo. |
| Eli is obsessed with reading. He has been since birth. He can know "read" The Gingerbread Man. A normal sentence from Eli to me would be, "A sneaky, sly fox gobbled him all up, Momma!" or "SSSSSHHHHHH! Do you hear the gingerbread man?" |
| We went to the beach with Sam's parents. Our trip deserves a post to itself later... |
| We spent Memorial Day at my parents' house. They are so nice to host and always try to provide as much organic food as possible! |
| Kate turned 6 months old, and Daddy took her on her first date. |
| Best dad ever took sweet Katie-girl clothes shopping. She came back with 4 new onesies and a Ralph Lauren play outfit. As you can see, she was thrilled with the shopping outing. Best first date ever, I think. No nervous jitters or uncomfortable silences. |
| So she didn't exactly stay awake for the whole date! :) |
| Eli drove a "tractor" for the first time with my dad. Aren't they brave? Cicadas were circling them!!! |
| Cooling off after driving the tractor. :) |
| Eli LOVES building "towers," "slides," and "Poppy's house." This creation is what Eli likes to call "the stairs." |
| Eli likes to be the one to go get Kate when she wakes up. I am always right behind him just in case... |
| Eli's first drawing a "boy." I'm not sure if you can tell, but there is a head, 2 eyes, and a nose. :) Good first try, buddy. On another note, we are fairly confident that Eli is left-handed. His preference for his left hand has become much more dominant over the last 6 months although we have had a feeling he might be left-handed for about a year. We don't have any lefties in either family, so we are pretty shocked! |
| Eli and Kate had their very first non-family member babysitter this week! I had to teach at Lipscomb and Sam had a morning meeting, so we called in Caitlin. She was wonderful with the kids! On another note, Eli moved to the 2 year old class at church and he loves it!!! He is always talking about Mr. Jon and Mrs. Kristin, his teachers. Eli is turning into a big boy! And Kate loves the nursery - she is such a pleasant, easy-going little girl! |
| Hmmm... maybe my "big boy" isn't always so happy about being big. Sometimes he still wants to be my baby, and I'm okay with that. |
| Love, love, love, love, love, love with all of my heart these little monkeys. Who knew life could be so wonderfully perfect? Thank you, Lord, for blessing me so much! |
See you in a month! :) Hopefully, it won't be that long! It's amazing how getting rid of facebook and as much technology as I can has made my life busier - I'm finally busy living my life instead of sitting in front of the tv and computer. Life is fuller and happier than it has ever been!
it better not take you a month to post again. i am still waiting on your beach pictures. i might just have to come over and look on your computer myself. anyways, this whole blog post is awesome! i loved every picture and caption! and eli's hair short is beyond cute! and i love the outfit sam bought kate! he did good!!! :)
ReplyDeleteEli looks so grown up with his haircut! I can't believe he speaks that well!! Kate looks so sweet sitting up. I can't wait for that day! Lisa told me she waved to you the other day. That is so neat! Can't wait for our kids to play together!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lisa! I am going to try to get some beach pics up soon!
ReplyDeleteErica, thank you! Eli speaks pretty well, but sometimes I am still the only one who can understand him! He has a big vocabulary, but he still "sounds" like a 2 year old, for sure! I can't wait til you come in August. I told Lisa to plan a time for a pool date! :)
